Devil told me to take my life – Gospel singer shares traumatic experience

Nigerian gospel artist Chidinma Ekile has shared details of a deeply personal spiritual experience that involved solitude, fasting, and prayer.

The former Project Fame winner revealed that she spent 40 days in isolation, seeking divine direction while going through intense spiritual encounters. She described the period as one filled with emotional challenges, continuous prayer, and deep inner conflict.

Chidinma noted that she spent her nights outdoors, using music and prayer to communicate with God. She described the experience as deeply personal and said it led to a heightened awareness of God’s presence.

While recounting her time on the mountain, she shared a particularly troubling moment when she felt spiritually exposed and encountered a dark force.

She described a chilling encounter at the edge of a cliff where a powerful voice urged her to jump. However, she said an unseen force stopped her and prevented what could have been a tragic outcome.

“It was more like I was in a theatre and God performed surgery on me and He shredded me. I have seen it all, and material things don’t move me anymore.

“The enemy came to me to take me out of there before my time. The devil took me to the top of a cliff at night where everywhere was dark. And right there, He asked me to jump. The voice was so strong.

“When I was about to jump, I noticed that I was barricaded and it was impossible to jump. Something was just there,” she said.

Her story has sparked strong reactions from followers, many of whom have commended her openness and spiritual strength.
