The curfew, which took effect on Sunday, July 27, restricts movement from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. as part of intensified security efforts to contain the escalating unrest.

Minister for Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, confirmed the move, stressing that the evacuations are a critical step to protect students who are at heightened risk due to the conflict.

“The safety of our children is paramount. This operation is to ensure that no student falls victim to the ongoing tensions,” he stated.

The evacuation is being coordinated through a collaborative effort involving school authorities, local government officials, security services, and the Ghana Armed Forces.

Parents and guardians have been urged to remain calm and cooperate with authorities throughout the process.

The government has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and restoring peace and stability in the affected communities.
