I’m sorry – Prophet who predicted Shatta Wale’s death apologizes after arrest

Prophet and counsellor D.Y. Donkoh has publicly apologised following his arrest over a prophecy in which he claimed that dancehall artiste Shatta Wale would be shot dead in a two-part attack.

The controversial prophecy, which circulated widely on social media, prompted fear and outrage, especially from Shatta Wale himself, who condemned the statement as traumatic and irresponsible. The musician called for Donkoh’s arrest, accusing him of using fear to gain public attention.

Donkoh was picked up by police at his residence on the night of Friday, July 25, 2025, just hours after the video went viral.

In the viral footage, Donkoh claimed to have seen a vision of Shatta Wale being fatally shot by unknown attackers. The prophecy quickly sparked a public outcry, with many describing it as reckless and potentially inciting panic.

Following his release, the prophet issued an official apology, stating that although he believed the message came from God, he had no intention of causing fear or distress.

“I deeply regret the trauma my message may have caused Shatta Wale and his team. Going forward, I will exercise greater spiritual discretion and sensitivity in the delivery of such messages,” he said.

He also acknowledged the emotional toll the prophecy had taken and promised to handle similar revelations more responsibly in the future.
