Ghanaians have already miss Akufo-Addo and Bawumia – NPP’s Kwaku Agyei

Chairman Kwaku Agyei, a communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has claimed that many Ghanaians are beginning to miss the leadership of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia after seven months under the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

Speaking on Wontumi TV’s morning show, Chairman Agyei expressed concern over rising insecurity in the Ashanti Region, particularly in Kumasi and Asawase. He argued that the NPP government ensured peace and safety in the region—conditions he says have deteriorated under the NDC.

“There was no violence that led to the loss of lives in the country, especially in the Ashanti Region, during the NPP government. Kumasi was a peaceful place where people lived without fear and panic,” he said. “But under the current government, the Ashanti Region has become a land without liberty.”

He accused certain individuals of orchestrating violent incidents in the region, claiming residents of Asawase now live in fear and cannot go about their normal activities. He added that market vendors are also struggling due to reduced patronage, a result of the insecurity.

Chairman Agyei called on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and his elders to intervene and help restore peace and stability in the region.

“The elders must step in to protect lives and restore confidence among residents. We cannot allow fear and lawlessness to take over our communities,” he said.
