New poll indicates that 38% of NPP delegates endorse Bryan
Support for Dr. Bryan Acheampong among New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates has seen a significant boost, according to new data released by OBM Consultancy, a Ghana-based political research and analytics group.

The poll, conducted before and during the NPP’s National Delegates Conference, shows Dr. Acheampong securing 37.8% support from sampled delegates—representing a 35% surge over his June figures. This leap confirms earlier findings by the Future Governance Analytics Project (FGAP), which tracked his rise from 12.7% in April to 28.1% by June.
The Abetifi MP’s steady climb has positioned him as a frontrunner in what has been described as a competitive and unpredictable race. His message of party discipline, grassroots restoration, and internal restructuring appears to be striking a chord with the Electoral College.
Observers note that delegates may be shifting away from traditional frontrunners in favour of Acheampong’s field-oriented and pragmatic campaign style. A former Minister for Food and Agriculture and successful businessman, his non-flamboyant approach and direct engagement with party delegates are gaining traction.
The release of the poll results comes shortly after the NPP’s National Executive Council confirmed January 2026 as the proposed date for the party’s presidential primary. With timelines taking shape, delegates are beginning to consolidate support behind candidates they believe can lead the party to victory in the 2028 general elections.
Party insiders say the data signals a growing appetite within the NPP base for generational renewal and a fresh governing strategy—sentiments that Dr. Acheampong’s campaign seems to be capitalizing on.
The poll results have sparked renewed debate and anticipation ahead of what promises to be a critical contest for the party’s future.
