Mama Acheampong, a former teacher of Daddy Lumba, visited the deceased musician’s family to commiserate with them after his sudden demise.

The celebrated highlife musician passed away at 60 on Saturday, July 26, 2025, with his family later releasing a public statement to announce the unfortunate news.

In a video seen by DailyNewsGhana, Mama Acheampong, a former teacher of Daddy Lumba, was inconsolable as she mourned her former student’s demise after she arrived at his residence.

The elderly woman, who was accompanied by two individuals, continuously shed tears and screamed out the musician’s real name as she dealt with the painful loss in front of the deceased’s family members.

The heartbreaking moment from Mama Acheampong’s visit evoked sad reactions from many Ghanaians on social media.
