BOMSHELL – How Fulani herdsmen trafficking guns sellotaped onto their cattle to Bawku

Security analyst Mr. Andrews Asiedu Tetteh has alleged that Fulani herdsmen are smuggling firearms into Bawku, fueling the persistent conflict in the area.

Speaking on Rainbow Radio’s Nyankonton Mu Nsem on 87.5FM, Mr. Tetteh claimed the weapons are hidden among cattle, allowing the herdsmen to evade detection by border security personnel. According to him, the guns are taped to the backs or stomachs of the animals, making it difficult for security officers to conduct thorough searches.

“These herdsmen conceal the weapons using sellotape and attach them to their cattle. Our soldiers can’t search the animals because doing so could be fatal. Only the herdsmen know how to navigate through their herds safely,” he explained.

Mr. Tetteh said his findings are based on two weeks of personal research and criticized Ghana’s security agencies for failing to conduct similar investigations. He suggested their lack of insight is hindering efforts to address arms trafficking in Bawku.

He further blamed the worsening security situation on systemic issues such as incompetence, political interference, and porous borders. Until these challenges are addressed, he warned, a lasting solution to the Bawku conflict will remain elusive.…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
