Ama Pratt opens us on Jane Naa returning in a private jet
The Press Secretary and Spokesperson to the Vice President, Ama Pratt, has refuted claims that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang chartered a private jet to return from the United Kingdom, calling the criticisms baseless and unnecessary.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Ama Pratt said there was no evidence to back the allegation and questioned the motive behind such claims.
“I’m not even sure she came with a private jet. All we know is that her usual travel arrangements were made. I can’t confirm whether a private jet was involved or not. And not every bit of information can be made public,” she stated.
She explained that the Vice President had been on medical leave in the UK, and the focus should now be on her recovery rather than her mode of return.
“At the end of the day, the Vice President was ill. Thankfully, she’s recovered. Is the type of flight she used really the most important issue?” she asked.
Responding to criticism from NPP MP for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, who alleged that the Vice President returned on a chartered flight, Ama Pratt stressed that public attention should be on her health and commitment to service.
“We all have mothers. My own mother was sick last year, and she’s a private person. But Naana Jane is our Vice President. The same people whose government once wanted aircrafts with showers are now upset about a flight without a bath?” she said.
She added, “It’s surprising people are offended that our Vice President, who was ill, returned on a flight to continue serving. What exactly did they expect her to return with?”
Ama Pratt concluded by saying that unless there is proof that the official presidential aircraft is in good condition, the criticisms are unwarranted.
“Until they can show there’s nothing wrong with the presidential jet, the argument holds no weight. What matters is that she’s well and back to work.”
