JUST IN: Madina in flames (VIDEO)
A fierce fire has ripped through several wooden structures around Madina Redco, triggering panic as residents scrambled for safety amid flames and falling electric cables.

The blaze, which reportedly began at a Washing Bay, drew a swift response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), with personnel from the Madina Fire Station leading the initial firefighting efforts.
Additional support came from the University of Ghana Fire Station, Abelenkpe, and the GNFS National Headquarters, as the fire threatened to spread further. Senior fire officials, including the GNFS Greater Accra Regional Commander and the Deputy Director of Operations, arrived on-site to oversee and coordinate the response.
A water tanker from the GNFS Headquarters was also deployed to reinforce the operation, helping firefighters contain the blaze and limit its spread to nearby buildings.
Although the fire has since been brought under control, firefighting teams remain on-site to tackle lingering hotspots.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has been contacted to disconnect power supply to the area as a safety measure. Police officers have also been deployed to manage the crowd and maintain order.
This marks the second fire incident in less than a month at Ritz Junction, where a previous outbreak also destroyed multiple wooden structures.
