Since NDC came into office, I struggle to get lorry fare – Weija-Gbawe MP tells Speaker

The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has attributed his absence from parliamentary pre-sittings to economic hardship under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.

Speaking during parliamentary proceedings on July 30, 2028, Mr. Shaib responded to a query from First Deputy Speaker Bernard Ahiafor regarding his consistent absence from early meetings.

In a surprising admission, the MP claimed that the tough economic conditions since President Mahama assumed office had made it difficult for him to even afford transportation to Parliament.

“Mr Speaker, sometimes it is a matter of lorry fare. Since this government came into office, it has been very difficult for me to even get money for lorry fare. So, Mr Speaker, that is the situation,” he explained.
