June MoMo transactions across Ghana reaches GH¢323bn

Mobile money (MoMo) transactions in Ghana reached a total value of GH¢323.2 billion in June 2025, marking a 10.2% decline from the GH¢360 billion recorded in May, according to the Bank of Ghana’s July 2025 Summary of Economic and Financial Data.

Despite the month-on-month dip, the year-on-year performance remained impressive. In June 2024, MoMo transactions totalled GH¢224 billion, indicating a substantial GH¢99.2 billion increase — or 44.3% growth — over the 12-month period.

The data reflects the ongoing expansion and adoption of digital financial services across the country.

In terms of transaction volume, 735 million MoMo transactions were recorded in June 2025, down 7.7% from the 796 million reported in May. However, this still represents a 14.1% year-on-year increase from the 644 million transactions recorded in June 2024.

The report also revealed that registered mobile money accounts had reached 76.4 million, with 24.5 million classified as active users. The float balance — the total funds held in mobile wallets — stood at GH¢28.9 billion.
