A group of armed, masked men suddenly emerged and opened fire on the vehicle – Adutwum recounts

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful and former Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has shared a near-death experience he had while on official duty, calling it one of the biggest personal sacrifices he made for the party and the former Akufo-Addo administration.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, the Bosomtwe MP said the incident happened after he travelled to Bolgatanga for a programme on the implementation of Free Senior High School (SHS) as Deputy Education Minister—an event that eventually did not take place.

On his return journey to Kumasi, Dr. Adutwum explained, his vehicle came under attack near Buipe.

“A group of armed, masked men suddenly emerged and opened fire on the vehicle,” he said. He credited his survival to the quick reaction of his driver, whom he described as “very tactful,” noting that fast manoeuvring helped them escape the attackers.

Dr. Adutwum added that after driving a short distance, the tyres went flat, showing how dangerous the situation had been. The police later said the attack was unusual, as no government vehicle had reportedly been targeted in that way at the time…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
