Ablekuma North Election Re-run: We are going to court – NPP MP

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffuor Awuah, has announced that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will take legal action against the Electoral Commission (EC) over its decision to rerun the 2024 parliamentary election in 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North constituency.

“We are going to court. My update is that we are going to court, and what steps we have taken since are yet to come to my attention,” he stated during an appearance on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday.

Mr. Baffuor Awuah expressed disappointment with how the EC has handled the matter, describing its actions as inconsistent and troubling.

He noted that the EC had previously stated it was ready to declare the parliamentary results in the constituency, with the only challenge being the need for adequate security protection.

The NPP believes the EC’s latest decision lacks transparency and poses a threat to the credibility of the electoral process.
