According to him, the former President believes he did not make the most of the opportunity given to serve the nation and wants to express remorse.

Asamoah Boateng, popularly known as Asabee and a former MP for Mfantsiman West, disclosed that Akufo-Addo shared his intentions during a meeting with some senior party members, taking full responsibility for the NPP’s 2024 election defeat.

“I met Nana Addo in a meeting and he was worried and humbled by the 2024 defeat. He told me that we must all accept the responsibility for the party’s defeat in the election, but he takes the highest blame,” he said.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Kwadwo Jantuah on Nhyira FM’s Kuroyi Mu Nsem, Mr. Boateng noted that the former President is seeking an opportunity to publicly apologise.

He further revealed plans to organise an ‘atonement rally’ as part of efforts to ask Ghanaians for forgiveness.

“After the meeting between ex-President Kufour and Akufo-Addo, there was a decision for the party to plan and organize an atonement rally in Ghana to say sorry to Ghanaians,” he added.
