Alan Kyerematen Takes Youth Empowerment to New Heights with Electrifying Youth Musical Concert

The Legon City Mall came alive on Saturday, November 23, 2024, as tens of thousands of youth gathered for the Afrafranto All-Star Youth Concert. Organized by the Movement for Change and the Afrafranto Alliance, under the leadership of Alan Kyerematen and his running mate Kwame Owusu Danso (KOD), the event was a groundbreaking blend of world-class entertainment and a powerful message of transformation.

The star-studded evening saw electrifying performances from Medikal, Bisa K’dei, Wendy Shay, Sydney, Jay Bahd, Sista Afia, Tinny, YPee, and a host of talented underground musicians. Renowned DJs Toyor, Lord, and Shiwaawa amplified the energy, ensuring the crowd remained exhilarated throughout the night.

While the concert celebrated Ghana’s vibrant youth culture, Alan Kyerematen seized the moment to outline his vision for the country’s creative industry. Speaking in an exclusive interview with journalists covering the event, he unveiled the Creative Arts Development Fund (CADF), a core feature of his 10-Point Plan for Youth Empowerment.

“The youth are the heartbeat of this nation, and their creativity is one of Ghana’s greatest assets,” Alan Kyerematen stated. “The Creative Arts Development Fund will provide financial support, mentorship, and technical assistance to our young creatives, ensuring they have the tools to thrive in a competitive global industry. This initiative is not just about nurturing talent; it’s about positioning the creative arts as a cornerstone of economic growth and job creation.”

Alan Kyerematen’s commitment to empowering the youth shone through as he elaborated on the CADF’s objectives, including addressing financial barriers, strengthening intellectual property rights, and fostering international collaborations. “Our musicians, filmmakers, and artists are among the best in the world. With the right support, they can lead Africa’s cultural narrative on the global stage,” he emphasized.

Adding to the event’s electrifying atmosphere, Medikal and other performers openly endorsed Alan Kyerematen, urging their fans to support him. “Alan is my president,” Medikal declared to thunderous applause. “He has a good heart for the youth of Ghana and a practical plan to support us. This is the leader we need.”

KOD, who took the stage alongside Tinny, shared an inspiring message of hope. Reflecting on his journey from a young artist to becoming the youngest vice-presidential candidate in Ghana’s history, he encouraged the youth to dream big. “This fund we intend to establish for the creative arts industry will change lives,” he said during a press briefing. “It will allow young creatives to focus on their craft without the constant worry of how to finance their dreams. I know how much difference this would have made in my time.”

The announcement of the CADF resonated deeply with attendees. Many young people, inspired by the performances and the leaders’ messages, expressed optimism that the fund would open doors to opportunities. “This is what we’ve been waiting for – a leader who understands our struggles and is ready to invest in us,” said a young musician at the event, who named Medikal as his role model. “Alan Kyerematen has our support.”

The Afrafranto All-Star Youth Concert highlighted the Movement for Change’s innovative approach to engaging the youth. By combining high-energy entertainment with meaningful policy discussions, Alan Kyerematen and KOD have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to the next generation.

With the success of the concert and the promise of the Creative Arts Development Fund, Alan Kyerematen is setting a new benchmark for leadership in Ghana. The youth, energized by the Afrafranto Movement, are confident that under his Great Transformational Plan, their aspirations will become a reality.
