Bawumia appoints Mireku Duker as campaign coordinator
The Bawumia for NPP 2028 flagbearer campaign has appointed former Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, George Mireku Duker, as the Western Regional Campaign Coordinator.

Chris Larbi, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Western Regional Communication Team, made the announcement on Takoradi-based Western Diamond TV.
He explained that Mr. Duker’s appointment was due to his extensive political experience and strong commitment to helping Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia become the next president of Ghana.
According to Mr. Larbi, Mr. Duker will be responsible for coordinating all campaign activities in the region.
He urged party members and activists in the Western Region to support Mr. Duker in achieving the campaign’s goal of making Dr. Bawumia the NPP’s 2028 flagbearer and Ghana’s next president.
Mr. Duker previously served as a Special Aide at the Ministry of Local Government in 2007 and was later appointed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem by former President John Agyekum Kufuor in 2008.
He served as Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem from 2017 to 2025.
In the lead-up to the 2024 elections, Dr. Bawumia appointed Mr. Duker as the Campaign Coordinator for mining communities.
