Berekum-Nyamebekyere in fear as lifeless body appears behind church

Residents of Nyamebekyere in the Berekum Municipality are demanding stronger police presence and intensified night patrols after the shocking discovery of a dead man in the community.

According to locals, they found the lifeless body of a man believed to be in his 40s lying prostrate with blood stains behind the Church of Pentecost building in the early hours of Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Police officers later arrived at the scene and picked up the body as investigations began. No arrests have been made yet in connection with the incident.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), residents expressed deep concern and described the development as disturbing. They urged the police to step up patrols, especially at night, to ensure safety and prevent similar cases in the future.

Some residents who knew the deceased revealed that he was originally from Jinijini in the Berekum West District but lived at Ahenbornoso in the Berekum Municipality.
