Bishop who officiated the fallen soldier in the helicopter crash speaks

The Bishop of the Cape Coast Diocese of the Methodist Church, Rt Rev. Richardson Andam, has shared his sorrow over the death of Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, one of the victims of the August 6 helicopter crash in Ghana.

The bishop had officiated the wedding of the late sergeant and his wife on July 5, 2025, just a month before the tragic incident in the Ashanti Region. Speaking in a Joy News interview, Rt Rev. Andam reflected on the painful loss, quoting Isaiah 55:8-9 from the Bible.

“God’s thoughts and ways are higher than human thoughts and ways, just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways,” he recited with emotion.

He added that no human mind can fully understand what happens in life, but God has a greater understanding, urging everyone to find comfort in that truth.
