Black Galaxies arrive in Togo for friendly ahead of Niger clash
Ghana’s Black Galaxies have arrived in Lome ahead of their friendly tie against Togo, as the team steps up preparations ahead of the 2024 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) playoff game against Nigeria.
The Black Galaxies departed Accra for Togo in the early hours of Tuesday and touched down in Lome around 15:00 GMT.
Ghana will play Togo on Wednesday, December 11, at the Stade de Kegue as part of preparations for their CHAN two-legged playoff tie against Nigeria.
The Black Galaxies, who had been camping at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence, Prampram, since November 25, resumed training on December 6 after a five-day hiatus due to Ghana’s general elections on December 7.
The team was put through their paces in Prampram as they underwent intense and rigorous training sessions, which included friendly games against Nania FC and Northern City, with the team winning both ties before flying out of Ghana.
Ghana, who were knocked out of the last CHAN tournament in the quarterfinal by Niger, will be aiming to go all the way in the forthcoming edition, which is expected to be hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
Ghana will play Nigeria in the first leg on December 21, 2024, before the second leg, which is scheduled to take place between December 27 and December 29, 2024.
