Black Stars players call for peace

Ahead of Ghana’s general election on December 7, players of the Black Stars have taken turns to call for a peaceful voting process.

Ghanaians will head to the polls on December 7 to cast their vote and decide who assumes the office of President, as well as who gets the opportunity to represent them in Parliament.

Players of the Black Stars, including stand-in skipper and talisman Mohammed Kudus, Gideon Mensah, Razak Simpson, Isaac Afful, and Kingsley Schindler, have cautioned Ghanaians against indulging in acts of violence.

“I’m here to urge for peaceful election,” Kudus said.

“We are all one in the country before and after elections. I wish you all well and have peaceful elections,” he added.

Whereas Gideon Mensah emphasized the importance of elections in building a democratic system: “The election presents the citizens the opportunity to shape the country as they want it. I urge everybody to exercise patience and peace and also value each and everyone’s opinion, and let’s keep going.”

Ghana will return to action in March 2025, where they’ll partake in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
