Church bans man from officiating during church service because he refused to send money to the pastor for his birthday

A Nigerian man has expressed frustration with his church after he was stopped from officiating during a church service.

According to him, the church barred him from carrying out his duties because he refused to contribute money towards his pastor’s birthday celebration.

He shared his complaint on X, formerly Twitter, and revealed that additional sanctions may be imposed on him.

He wrote, “Because I didn’t send money for papa’s birthday I am banned from officiating this Sunday & more punishment might be meted, after you have said it’s a voluntary contribution.”
