Daddy Lumba’s last wish before his death

As Ghanaians mourn the passing of highlife legend Daddy Lumba, his wife, Odo Broni, has revealed the late musician’s final wish.

In a heartfelt video, the grieving widow tearfully shared the emotional promise her husband made before his untimely death. According to her, Daddy Lumba’s greatest desire was to live long enough to see the results of his youngest son’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

“He really wanted to see his son’s BECE results. That was his biggest wish,” she said, struggling to hold back tears.

The music icon passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2026, at the Bank Hospital following a short illness, sending shockwaves across Ghana and beyond. His death has plunged fans, fellow musicians, and loved ones into deep sorrow.

Since the announcement, crowds of mourners have gathered at his Accra residence to pay their respects and offer condolences to the bereaved family.
