Dr Ato Forson mobbed
The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, received a rousing welcome in his constituency during the Christmas festivities.
In a video circulating widely on X, the Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam is seen standing in an open vehicle, waving to and acknowledging the cheers of excited constituents who came out in large numbers to welcome him home for the holidays.
The reception comes amid growing praise for Dr Forson’s leadership, especially his efforts in enforcing fiscal discipline, stabilising the cedi, and rolling out economic reforms.
President John Dramani Mahama has also commended Dr Ato Forson and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama, for working together to guide Ghana’s economy toward recovery.
The President made these comments at a durbar held at the Wa Jubilee Park in the Upper West Region on Thursday, May 15, 2025, during his thank-you tour after winning the 2024 general elections.
“I wish to commend the Honourable Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, along with their teams, for the close collaboration and coordination they are displaying in this economic turnaround,” he stated.
