Dr Bawumia takes commanding 73% lead – Latest Global InfoAnalytics report

A new survey by Global InfoAnalytics has shown that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is far ahead in the race to become the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer.

The report, which is based on recent tracking of the NPP primaries, indicates that Dr Bawumia currently enjoys the support of 73% of NPP delegates. He is followed by Kennedy Agyapong, who has 19% support, while Dr Bryan Acheampong trails with 5%. Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum recorded 2%, and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong polled 1%.

Unlike earlier surveys, the latest report did not include undecided or undisclosed voters. This has provided a much clearer picture of where the race stands ahead of the primaries. In the previous survey, nearly 20% of delegates had not made their choice known. At that time, Dr Bawumia led with 45%, while Kennedy Agyapong had 31%, leaving the contest more open. The new figures show that Dr Bawumia has significantly widened his lead, while Kennedy Agyapong’s support has dropped.

The survey also looked beyond party delegates to assess the views of the general Ghanaian electorate. It found that 56% of voters would prefer Dr Bawumia to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections. Kennedy Agyapong followed with 28%, while Dr Bryan Acheampong had 6%. Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong recorded 4% and 2% respectively.
