EC denies allegations of collusion with political parties
The Electoral Commission (EC) has dismissed allegations of collusion with any political party to manipulate the upcoming December 7 general elections.
Dr. Serebuor Quaicoe, the EC’s Head of Training, described the allegations as unfounded, emphasizing that the EC operates with full independence and integrity.
“The current electoral system has been specifically designed to safeguard the process from any form of manipulation,” Dr Quaicoe assured, pointing out that robust measures are in place to ensure the transparency and fairness of the elections.
He reiterated that the integrity of the elections is paramount and that no political party or individual has any undue influence over the Commission’s operations.
Dr Quaicoe stressed that rigging an election in Ghana is impossible, as it would require the collaboration of all stakeholders, including the Electoral Commission, party agents, and the general public.
The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), had accused the EC of working with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to influence the election results, particularly in the Ashanti Region.
