Election 2024: Ahmed Shaib Confident of Winning Weija Gbawe Seat
Jerry Ahmed Shaib, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Weija Gbawe constituency, has expressed confidence in securing a decisive victory in the upcoming general elections on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
The outgoing Member of Parliament, Tina Naa Ayele Mensah, won the seat in 2020 with a substantial 14,000-vote margin, defeating Cleyland Nii Ayaa Ayison of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Ahmed Shaib is optimistic about not only maintaining but surpassing that margin in the 2024 elections.
“I believe that by God’s grace, I am going to be victorious. I am very confident but not complacent,” Ahmed Shaib said in an interview. “We are praying and hoping that God will grant us victory, and the people of Weija Gbawe will repose confidence in us by voting massively for myself and our presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.”
Ahmed Shaib emphasized his commitment to improving the constituency, highlighting that he aims to clear the 14,000-vote deficit from the 2020 elections and achieve an even greater margin this year.
The Weija Gbawe constituency remains a key battleground in the Greater Accra Region, and both parties are intensifying efforts to win the seat.
