Election: My Real Party Is Not On The Ballot Sheet – Prof. Frimpong-Boateng | Social

The former Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has disclosed that his party is not on the ballot sheet for the upcoming 2024 general elections.

According to the professor, he is unhappy because his “real party” is not on the ballot sheet.

In an exclusive interview at his residence in Accra, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng alleged that there is division in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and therefore, he doesn’t see himself as a member of the party any longer, despite the love he had for it since childhood.

“The NPP is fragmented, disseminated, disunited, so there is no cohesion, and I really don’t feel that I am part of it because this is a party I love. I have an emotional attachment to it, from the days of my grandfather; he was the Adontenhene of Toase, and we’ve gone through a lot of things,” he stated.

He also mentioned that he will soon be celebrating his jubilee anniversary alongside his classmate in service to the public.

“Pretty soon, I and my classmates will be celebrating a 50th-anniversary in public service, and we think we’ve done a lot. There you are, you are asked to present a report to fight environmental terrorism, and two members of my party have taken me to court,” he lamented.

However, Prof. Frimpong-Boateng described the NPP he had known a few years ago as a party that believes in the rule of law, good governance, and separation of powers and does not belong to an individual.

He continued, saying that the party accords respect to the elders and leadership of the party and also cares for its members, extending love and care to the next generation of the party, advocating for hope to be restored in the party.

The former Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology further expressed his frustration on issues of corruption within the party.

“The issue of corruption is something that worries me. If we cannot deal with it, maybe we will have time to talk about it. But this is the NPP that I am thinking about. This is not the NPP (former) President Kufuor left us,” he added.
