EOCO seizes luxury car from residence of big Ghanaian business man and wife

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly removed several vehicles from the Tamale residence of former National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) CEO, Abdul Wahab Hanan Aludiba, according to information received by MyNewsGh.com.

The vehicles have been transferred to EOCO’s facility in Accra as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial and procurement misconduct during his time at the agency.

This move is part of EOCO’s efforts to secure assets linked to the former CEO, who is under investigation for suspected economic offenses. Mr. Hanan was arrested on June 25, 2025, during coordinated operations in both Accra and Tamale. His wife was also taken into custody during the operation but was later granted bail.

Reports indicate that EOCO officials escorted Mr. Hanan’s wife to their Tamale residence, where the vehicles were retrieved.

Mr. Hanan was held for nearly two weeks at EOCO’s Accra facility while efforts were made to meet his bail terms. He was released on July 8 after satisfying a bail condition exceeding GH¢60 million. His wife was previously granted bail set at GH¢30 million.

The vehicle recovery operation, which was carried out discreetly, is believed to be part of EOCO’s asset preservation strategy as it continues its probe into financial dealings at the state-run agency. The number of vehicles involved and details of the assets seized have not been disclosed.

The case has sparked political controversy, with some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) accusing EOCO of imposing harsh bail conditions to prolong Mr. Hanan’s detention.

Earlier this month, NPP Members of Parliament and party youth held protests outside EOCO’s offices, demanding his release.

EOCO has maintained that its actions are lawful and in the public interest.

Since his release, Mr. Hanan has not commented publicly on the matter, and both he and his wife have remained silent on social media.
