FC Samartex extended their lead in the Ghana Premier League to five points after a 2-1 win over Accra Hearts of Oak at Nana Nsenkyire Park at Sameraboi on Saturday.
Evans Osei Wusu scored in either half to give the leaders yet another home win to condemn the Phobians to their first loss in eight League games as well as the only defeat under new coach Aboubakar Ouattara.
FC Samartex opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through winger Evans Osei Wusu who headed home from a goal mouth melee to send the home crowd into a frenzy.
Hearts of Oak levelled matters through Hamza Issah’s rebound in the 77th minute. But Evans Osei Wusu popped up again to secure the victory with an astonishing finish in the 87th minute.
FC Samartex now lead the Ghana League table with 42 points – five points ahead second placed Nations FC who have a game against Asante Kotoko on Sunday. Hearts of Oak will be left disappoint in the outcome of the game after dropping to the 7th spot with 32 points having played one game more than the other teams in the middle of the table.
