Fears as Potter decision may not go down well at Chelsea

Journalist Simon Phillips believes Chelsea manager Graham Potter is putting himself in jeopardy by continuing to start Cesar Azpilicueta ahead of Wesley Fofana.

For his first game in charge of the Blues against Red Bull Salzburg last week, the newly-appointed head coach chose the Spanish defender over the summer recruit.

Summer visitors Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella, who had been promoted from wing-back, were also named as part of a back three, with Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly remaining on the bench.

However, Phillips believes that many Chelsea fans will not want to see the long-serving Spaniard start ahead of younger options like Fofana in the future.
