German President in Ghana – Here is his itinerary
The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has arrived in Ghana for a three-day state visit.

He landed on Sunday evening, November 2, 2025, and was received at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the German Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshöft.
Today, Monday, November 3, an official welcome ceremony will take place at the Forecourt of the Jubilee House, where President Steinmeier will inspect a full military Guard of Honour.
Afterward, President Steinmeier will hold a closed-door meeting with his host, President John Mahama, followed by bilateral talks between the two leaders and their delegations in the Credentials Room. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, technology, and development.
In the afternoon, a state luncheon in honour of the visiting president and his delegation will be held at the Presidential Banquet Hall.
As part of his visit, President Steinmeier will also tour the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, where he will lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
He will later meet young Ghanaian IT professionals before attending a reception at the German Ambassador’s Residence.
On Tuesday, November 4, President Steinmeier will travel to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, where he will perform a sod-cutting ceremony at the Kumasi Technical Institute and meet the Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Professor (Mrs) Rita Akosua Dickson, as well as staff and alumni.
He will also visit the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research before paying a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace.
