GFA identifies 4 suspects in Kotoko-Nations match officials attack

The Safety and Security Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced it has been able to identify four suspects involved in attacking match officials.

The matchweek 23 Kumasi derby between Asante Kotoko and Nations FC, which the latter lost 0-1, was marred by abuse and attacks by certain individuals.

In a press release signed by DCOP Lydia Donkor, Chairperson of the Ghana Football Association’s Safety and Security Committee, it stated, “The Committee has taken the matter up and is liaising with the Kumasi Regional Police Command to bring persons responsible for the aforementioned acts to book.”

DCOP Lydia Donkor warned that parties responsible for brazen attacks and abuses at match venues would not be allowed to tarnish the image of football in Ghana.

The GFA is assuring all football lovers of its commitment to see to the end of violence at match venues.
