GFA salutes all for massive support for Black Princesses

The Ghana Football Association would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the public for their massive support during the final of the 13th African Games, women’s football competition against Nigeria at the Cape Coast Sports stadium.

We would like to thank the Government, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Local Organising Committee of the African Games and the National Sports Authority for their continuous support.

The media were extremely vital as the wall-to-wall coverage helped to secure the massive turnout during thursday’s match and for that we are grateful.

We also want to recognize the incredible support of the fans and students of University of Cape Coast, especially Casford hall who thronged the Cape Coast Sports stadium to support the Black Princesses.

The technical team, playing body, management of the Black Queens and by extension the entire GFA are extremely grateful for the massive show of love and support to the team despite the match being played on a working day at 8:30pm kick off.

Finally, we would like to assure Ghanaians of the association’s conscious effort and support to develop youth football in the country.

Mukarama Abdulai’s late strike handed Ghana a 2:1 win after extra time to clinch gold at the African Games.

God bless Ghana, and continue to make our Nation GREAT AND STRONG!!!
