Ghana ready to finance production of Ukrainian drones – Ukraine President

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ghana is ready to finance the production of Ukrainian drones, following a phone conversation with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama.

According to Zelensky, who shared the news via the social media platform X, Ghana has expressed strong interest in Ukrainian drone technology and the experience Ukraine has gained during its ongoing conflict.

“Ghana is also interested in our technologies, the production of various types of drones, and the experience Ukraine has gained during this war. Ghana is ready to finance our production, and we are ready to help our partners secure their borders,” Zelensky stated.

The two leaders also discussed enhancing cooperation in agriculture and the establishment of a food logistics hub in Ghana.

“We discussed areas where we can already deepen our partnership, first and foremost in the agro-industrial sector and the creation of a food logistics hub in Ghana. We agreed to organize a ministerial-level meeting, and a Ukrainian delegation will travel to Ghana in the near future,” Zelensky added.

He extended an invitation to President Mahama to visit Ukraine.

This development follows a meeting in March 2025 between the foreign ministers of both countries—Ukraine’s Andrii Sybiha and Ghana’s Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa—during a summit in New Delhi, where they explored ways to deepen trade and bilateral cooperation.
