Ghanaian father arrested for allegedly attempting to sell his son for GH¢1 million

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a young man identified as Coffie Agyemang for allegedly attempting to sell his three-year-old son.

In a video circulating on X on January 13, 2026, it was reported that the suspect, a resident of Kwamang, was arrested after allegedly trying to sell his son for GH¢1 million.

According to reports, Coffie Agyemang discussed plans to sell the child to an associate, citing financial hardship as his reason.

The two-minute video indicated that the police were alerted to his intentions and later posed as a buyer.

It was further reported that during negotiations with the police, Coffie Agyemang allegedly agreed that after parts of his son’s body were cut off, the remaining remains would be handed over to him for burial.
