Ghanaian soldier dead in gory accident

A military officer with the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat has been confirmed dead after the team’s vehicle was involved in an accident.

Four other soldiers are in critical condition and have been taken to the Anglogold Obuasi Hospital for treatment.

In a statement, the Ministry of Lands said the accident happened late on November 19 while the team was heading to Obuasi after an operation at a concession in Anyankyerim.
