He caught his girlfriend making love to another man in open place and he did this to them
The Giyani Regional Court has handed down a heavy sentence to a 31-year-old man who murdered his girlfriend’s so-called “blesser” in what the court described as a tragic case of jealousy and a love triangle turned deadly.
On Monday, 8 September 2025, the court sentenced Mr. Maboti Valoyi, aged 31, to 15 years of direct imprisonment after finding him guilty of the murder of Mr. Eddy Ritshuri, a 56-year-old man from Dengeza A village outside Giyani.
Court proceedings revealed that the incident took place on the night of 28 January 2024, around 11 p.m. According to testimony, Mr. Ritshuri had been in the company of a woman believed to be Valoyi’s girlfriend. Consumed by anger and jealousy, Valoyi confronted them. He allegedly pulled the woman away by force and threatened to beat her.
In an attempt to protect the woman from further harm, Ritshuri followed the pair. A heated confrontation broke out between the two men, during which Valoyi drew a sharp object and fatally stabbed Ritshuri. The victim collapsed between a local tavern and a nearby church in the village. His body was later discovered by a passerby, who quickly alerted community members.
Good Samaritans rushed Ritshuri to the nearest clinic in a desperate attempt to save his life. Sadly, upon arrival at the health facility, medical staff confirmed that he had succumbed to the severe injuries he sustained from the stabbing.
The police immediately launched an investigation that eventually led to the arrest of Valoyi. After months of trial, the Giyani Regional Court delivered a guilty verdict on 20 August 2025, and Valoyi’s bail was forfeited.
In handing down the 15-year jail term, the presiding magistrate emphasized the seriousness of violent crimes arising from jealousy and disputes in relationships. The court further noted that such acts not only claim innocent lives but also tear communities apart.
Valoyi will now serve his sentence behind bars, while the family of the deceased continues to mourn the untimely loss of their loved one…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
