Three second-half goals from Mawuli Wayo, Enoch Asubonteng, and Asamoah Boateng Afriyie propelled Accra Hearts of Oak to a 3-0 win over Division One League (DOL) side, Home Stars, to advance to the round of 16 stage of the MTN FA Cup competition.
Despite playing at an unfamiliar University of Ghana Stadium, Homes Stars began the game on the front foot, attacking the host.
The Phobians, however, took over with possession and dominated the exchanges as Mawuli Wayo and Kwabena Boateng missed begging chances.
Back from recess coach Aboubakar Ouattara introduced Afriyie and Raphael Amponsah who added some bite to the Hearts attack.
Wayo blasted home the opener on 54 minutes with the second coming in the 63rd minute through Asubonteng.
Afriyie put the game beyond the reach of the visitors with the third goal on 72 minutes.
