Hearts of Oak to name new technical director

Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak are set to announce the appointment of Dutch trainer, Erik van der Meer as their new technical director.

The Phobians have decided to strengthen their technical with the acquisition of the former Qatar SC gaffer after a poor start in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.

Hearts of Oak have recorded two drawn games and a defeat in their first three games of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
Hearts of Oak opened their campaign with a defeat against Aduana Stars before sharing spoils in their home game against city rivals, Great Olympics.
In the matchday 3 games, Samuel Boadu and his charges secured a point against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium.
According to multiple reports in the local media, the Phobians are believed to have agreed to appoint the 55-year-old former Dutch footballer to beef up the technical department of the club.
Togbe Afede XIV, who is the board chairman has approved the decision with the conviction that coach Samuel Boadu needs a helping hand.
Van der Meer was at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday to watch the club’s league game against Kotoko which ended 1-1.
