Here Ghana’s position 2026 US Army Best Medic Competition

Ghana has placed third at the 2026 US Army Best Medic Competition held in Italy from January 13 to 15, demonstrating the high level of skill, discipline and teamwork of its military medical personnel.

The achievement was announced by the U.S. Embassy in Ghana in a post on X on Friday, January 30, 2026.

According to the embassy, Ghana presented a joint team drawn from the Army, Navy and Air Force, highlighting strong inter-service cooperation and the long-standing partnership between Ghana and the United States in medical readiness.

“Ghana fielded a joint team from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, highlighting strong teamwork and a longstanding partnership with the United States in medical readiness. The team performed impressively, with Sgt. Cornelius Adagbe and Leading Seaman Ato Amonoo-Rockson securing third place overall,” the post said.

This is the second consecutive year Ghana has competed with a joint team made up of personnel from all three branches of the Armed Forces.

The Ghanaian team competed against teams from the United States, Italy and Liberia under tough, combat-like conditions designed to test both medical skills and operational readiness.

The annual competition, organised by the US Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE), assesses the combat medical proficiency of Army medics through physically demanding and technically challenging activities.
