Here is what Donald Trump said when he saw Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States

Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Victor Emmanuel Smith, has officially begun his diplomatic duties after presenting his credentials to U.S. President Donald J. Trump in Washington, DC.

The ceremony was held at the Oval Office of the White House, where Ambassador Smith was among 14 newly appointed envoys accredited to the United States.

In a Facebook post, the Embassy of Ghana in Washington DC said Ambassador Smith was the first ambassador to be received by President Trump during the session, highlighting Ghana’s strong diplomatic ties with the United States.

The post added that President Trump reacted warmly when he saw the Ghanaian envoy, saying, “look at this good-looking guy,” which drew laughter in the Oval Office and set a friendly tone for the meeting.

During the interaction, Ambassador Smith thanked President Trump for the opportunity to serve and conveyed greetings from President John Dramani Mahama. He reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to working closely with the United States to further strengthen the long-standing bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The Ambassador stressed Ghana’s interest in expanding cooperation in trade, investment and economic diplomacy, describing the country as a stable democracy and a strategic gateway to regional and continental markets.

He noted that Ghana offers access to a sub-regional market of over 400 million people and a continental market of more than 1.4 billion people, making it an attractive destination for American businesses looking to expand into Africa.

Ambassador Smith also highlighted Ghana’s role as host of the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat, reinforcing its position as a hub for intra-African trade and investment.

He said Ghana is ready for deeper engagement with American companies, especially in manufacturing, agribusiness, energy, technology and services.
