I don’t know the General Secretary, I have never met him before – Prof. Frimpong-Boateng claps back

Former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has reacted to claims by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, that he is deliberately trying to damage the party’s image.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Prof. Frimpong-Boateng said, “I don’t know the General Secretary. I have never met him before, and I am just waiting for an official communication from the party.”

Prof. Frimpong-Boateng also responded to claims that he had been “contracted” to make certain statements.

He described the allegations as “very sad” and stressed that he has been consistent over the years.

He further stated, “A party in which some people have suffered should not be destroyed by young ones. If they want to destroy it, they should quit, and the real party will start.”

The comments follow accusations by Mr. Kodua that Prof. Frimpong-Boateng had described the NPP as a “fake party” and questioned when he arrived at that conclusion. Mr. Kodua claimed the remarks were meant to cause division and distract from the party’s internal primaries.

In response, the NPP has confirmed that it has activated relevant provisions of its constitution to begin processes to expel Prof. Frimpong-Boateng.
