“I want to show credit to…” The three players Malo Gusto praised after “incredible” win

Chelsea defender Malo Gusto is the man of the moment.

He’s been praised highly for some time by those watching our performances closely, but in the last couple of weeks that praise has gone mainstream, with all the main pundits picking up on it, especially after another great showing yesterday.

But Gusto is also keen to pass that praise on to his teammates, and in his interview on the Chelsea official website this afternoon, he took the chance to hail three teammates who played their part.

“I’m very happy with my performances recently. I try my best to help the team as much as possible in every game and I’m pleased to be performing well for Chelsea,” Gusto said modestly.

“Of course, Cole [Palmer] is a great player. He is doing well too and I’m very happy for him to score and assist. He is an important player for us.

“Also, I want to show credit to Carney and Noni. They are two very good players and they deserved their moments when they came on, they both scored great goals and they played important roles for us.

All four of them can be delighted with their contribution yesterday, and must be aware that their form is vital to making a success of the remainder of this season. If Mauricio Pochettino can get Carney and Noni performing with the same regularity that Cole and Malo are, we’ll be a real threat to any team we face.
