I was not aware when Akufo Addo increased fuel prices – Bawumia

His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, popularly known among some Ghanaians as “Momfa steer no mma me,” has stirred conversation once again with his recent comments during his ongoing “Thank You” tour across the country.

Speaking to supporters and stakeholders, the former Vice President and 2024 NPP presidential candidate admitted that there were several key developments under President Akufo-Addo’s administration that he had no knowledge of.

In a rather surprising disclosure, Dr. Bawumia stated that he was not aware of certain decisions and happenings during his time in office, including the persistent rise in fuel prices that drew widespread public criticism.

According to him, while many citizens have been quick to blame him for the hardships experienced under the NPP government, he believes some of the blame is misplaced.

He urged Ghanaians to take into consideration the limitations of his role at the time, insisting that many decisions were made without his direct involvement or input.

Dr. Bawumia’s comments have sparked widespread reaction across political and social platforms, with critics questioning how the then-Vice President, who was widely seen as the head of the Economic Management Team, could be unaware of such critical economic decisions.

Meanwhile, supporters argue that his honesty should be appreciated, and his remarks understood in the context of internal governance dynamics.
