I was physically assaulted by NDC machomen – Hawa Koomson

Former Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has alleged that she was physically attacked by individuals believed to be affiliated with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the recently held parliamentary rerun in the Ablekuma North constituency.

In a post shared on her official Facebook page, the former Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West said the attackers were “NDC machomen” who assaulted her while she was peacefully monitoring the election process at one of the polling stations.

“I wish to inform the general public that while peacefully observing the ongoing election rerun in Ablekuma North Constituency, I was physically assaulted by NDC machomen. During this unfortunate incident, my personal mobile phone was forcibly taken,” she wrote.

She further cautioned the public to disregard any communications from her mobile phone, warning that the device was no longer under her control.

“As a result, any calls, messages, social media posts, or broadcasts originating from my number from the time of incidence onwards should be treated as unauthorized and not from me. I kindly urge everyone to disregard any such communication until I regain full control of my digital platforms,” she added.
