If he doesn’t know his party General Secretary, then who is fake now? – Nana Akomea attacks Prof. Frimpong-Boateng
Former Managing Director of the State Transport Company, Nana Akomea, has criticised former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, over his description of the New Patriotic Party as a “fake party.”
Nana Akomea said Professor Frimpong-Boateng is not in a position to describe any political party as fake.
He argued that the former minister appears disconnected from the party, especially after admitting publicly that he does not know the party’s General Secretary.
According to Nana Akomea, the General Secretary was duly elected and has led the party for nearly four years. He questioned Professor Frimpong-Boateng’s relationship with the NPP, saying it is worrying for a party member not to know such a key official.
“Professor Frimpong-Boateng did not speak well and I pray that when he reflects on what he said, he will realise he spoke wrongly and come back to apologise. Who wouldn’t want Professor Frimpong-Boateng in his party?
“Yet he claims he does not even know the General Secretary of the party, who has been elected for about three years. If he doesn’t know him, then who is fake now? He is not in a position to make pronouncements about the party because he does not know what is going on within it,” he said.
Nana Akomea was speaking in an interview on UTV on January 15, 2026.
He also criticised Professor Frimpong-Boateng’s comments against the possible election of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
The former Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South and a key member of Dr Bawumia’s campaign team described the professor’s remarks as inappropriate.
Nana Akomea further questioned Professor Frimpong-Boateng’s argument that Dr Bawumia should not be considered because of his association with the previous government.
“He also said Dr Bawumia is still affiliated with the previous government, so he should not be brought forward. But he himself served in the same government, so what exactly is he saying?” he asked…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
