If you want to step down, appoint someone for us to support – President Mahama told

Founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, also known as Glorious Chapel, Rev Isaac Owusu-Bempah, has joined calls for a third-term agenda for President John Dramani Mahama.

Rev Owusu-Bempah said President Mahama has performed very well and should not step down when his tenure ends.

Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on January 23, 2026, he said he does not believe anyone else can manage the country better than President Mahama.

He argued that Mahama should be allowed to continue in office unless he personally decides to step down.

“President John Dramani Mahama deserves commendation because things have been going well since he became president. Ghanaians have seen the good things he is doing, such as paying off debts and stabilizing the economy. We must praise him because he is working,” Owusu-Bempah said.

He questioned why “a good” president like Mahama should leave office after four years.

“For me, I don’t want him to go because there is no one else who can do better than him, looking at how he is ruling the country. If he wants to step down, he should appoint someone for us to support because I don’t know who else can help rule the country better,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Constitution of Ghana states that a qualified person can serve a maximum of two presidential terms.

President Mahama has already served one term and is currently serving his second. For him to contest again, the Constitution would need to be amended with at least a two-thirds majority support in Parliament…CONTINUE MORE READING>>>
