Islamic SHS Boys’ prefect dead

The acting Boys’ Prefect of Islamic Senior High School in Kumasi, identified as Abass, has died.

Reports indicate that he died after falling from the top floor of the school’s administration block on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Students and staff rushed to the scene after noticing he had fallen during school hours.

According to school sources, Abass had been battling suicidal thoughts, although the administration reportedly did not know about it.

His family — including his mother and uncle — later revealed that he had previously hinted at harming himself, but they did not take it seriously because they thought he was joking.

Abass was a final-year Business student at Islamic SHS. He was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. His body has been released to the family and buried according to Islamic rites.

In a related development, Prince Nkrumah, also known as Sir Skinny, an ICT teacher at Ansah Redeemed Basic School in Assin Fosu, has also reportedly died by suicide.

Sources say he ingested weedicide after the woman he supported through nursing school ended their relationship once she graduated.
