Joao Felix starts – Predicted Chelsea Xl vs Aston Villa
Chelsea are getting ready to face Aston Villa in the Premier League this afternoon in the next set of league fixtures this Sunday.
Enzo Maresca’s side have a chance of being second in the league come the end of the fixtures this weekend, should they beat Villa at Stamford Bridge, and should Liverpool manage to beat Manchester City today, who have looked very down and out lately. You can and should never write off City though, but there is a slight chance that Chelsea could end today in a VERY good spot.
Please do take a look at my own Chelsea community we have built, reporting exclusive and sourced news, opinions, tactical analysis, a Podcast once a week, and much more!
Maresca will have been pondering his starting Xl all this week, and what wouldn’t have helped with that is the game on Thursday night. Chelsea beat Heidenheim 2-0 away from home in Germany in the Europa Conference League, but luckily the Italian head coach uses two different teams for league and cup games.
Felix to get the nod?
Joao Felix did not start on Thursday like we expected him to, although he did come on as a late sub. But does this suggest he was being saved for today? I think he might be. He played very well in Chelsea’s last league game against Leicester City, so I feel he could continue that and get a start today.
With that said, here is my predicted Chelsea Xl for today:
GK – Robert Sanchez
RB – Malo Gusto
CB – Wesley Fofana
CB – Levi Colwill
LB – Marc Cucurella
CM – Moises Caicedo
CM – Enzo Fernandez –
AM – Cole Palmer
LW – Joao Felix
RW – Noni Madueke
ST – Nicolas Jackson
I think the only question marks will be Felix with Pedro Neto back this week, and also in the midfield with Romeo Lavia back fit and available now. But I think Fernandez keeps his spot.
We will also have to hope Gusto is fit and ready to start.
