Kejetia Market Women cries after losing items when actor Lilwin visited
Award-winning Kumawood actor Lil Win has sparked controversy following a promotional parade at Kejetia in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

The comic actor, known for his dramatic public stunts, stormed the bustling central business district to promote his upcoming film Captain Ibrahim Traoré: The Last African Hero, set to premiere at the Semenhyia Golden (SG) Mall on Saturday, July 30, 2025.
Lil Win, together with some cast members of the movie, arrived at the market dressed in military uniforms, riding in convoy-style vehicles, creating a spectacle that drew a massive crowd. What started as a lively and peaceful event quickly spiraled into chaos when Lil Win began spraying cash into the crowd.
According to eyewitnesses, the scene turned violent as people scrambled for the money. In an interview with Ghana Plus TV, a distressed market woman recounted how the stampede led to the loss of yams she had been selling on behalf of another trader, as well as GH₵2000 in cash.
She said the trouble began when she tried to stop a woman from crawling under Lil Win’s moving car to grab money. Amid the confusion, she was only able to retrieve GH₵100 from a man she caught in the act.
Another trader, visibly emotional, alleged that one of Lil Win’s bodyguards destroyed items she had purchased with a GH₵3000 loan. She managed to get some money from Lil Win’s entourage after confronting them, but was later attacked by two men who robbed her of the cash.
The incident has ignited criticism from sections of the public, with many calling on the actor to take responsibility for the unintended chaos caused by his cash-spraying stunt. Lil Win has yet to publicly comment on the situation.
